Brett Calman is a Canadian Police officer who has been with the police department since 2004. Mr. Calman has alway had a passion for writing and wrote his first book "My Road to the Badge" to assist individuals who wanted to get onto the force and looking for guidance. The book also entails stories from the early years of starting on the force.
Continuing with writing, Mr.Calman decided to try something new and wrote his first fictional novel titled "Ahriman" which is a murder mystery.
Mr. Calman spent most of his policing career on the road dealing with all types of calls from homicides to shoplifters. In 2006 he attended a horrifying event in which he thought he was going to die. Plagued by nightmares and daily flashbacks, Mr. Calman struggled mentally for many years where he was diagnosed with PTSD in 2015. After years of therapy, he once again went back to writing and began typing his experience as he found typing was easier than talking. Several years later, his manuscript was complete and Mr. Calman had published his third book "PTSD - Road to Recovery" sharing his personal experiences in battling with PTSD. The book also has passages from his wife who describes supporting an individual with PTSD as well as passages from his therapist.
